New Song! "The Sun Is Going Down"

Today, I bring you the second single from my forthcoming album, PINK STONE: SONGS FROM MOOSE LODGE. “The Sun Is Going Down” is a celebration of togetherness, friendship, and community—and a song for the glorious end of summer. I wrote it during a lonely time when joyful evenings of dancing and bonfires felt far away and out of reach. The song brought me comfort and has put a smile on my face on many occasions since, and I can’t think of a better moment to release it than right now. I hope the song will inspire fond memories of times past… and be a reminder of the good ones yet to come. Listen, enjoy, share, dance with me!

All my thanks to the wonderful contributors to this track who made it all possible: Dena El Saffar (joza and viola); Ben Lumsdaine (djembe, cottonwood branches, and rocks); Jonathan Root (harmonies); David Weber of Airtime Recording Studios (mandolin + mixing/mastering/production); Anna Briggs (illustration); and Karla Holman (design). And special thanks 4Culture and the 118+ Kickstarter backers of this project!

“The Sun Is Going Down” is the second single from my forthcoming album PINK STONE: SONGS FROM MOOSE LODGE, a collection of songs written over the course of several years in Washington’s Methow Valley, traditional territory of the mətxʷú people.
